Key Responsibilities

  • Provide passionate about supporting children, youth and their families through a friendly and energetic, play-based approach.

  • Eager to work collaboratively with other members of the family’s team.(e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators, physicians) to develop and implement client centered, functional, and neuroaffirming treatment plans.

  • Comfortable coaching families and support staff on new strategies to try at home, school or daycare.

  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports in line with professional and ethical standards.

  • Sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual, and positional differences among staff, providers, and children/families served. 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences or acceptable equivalent.

  • Licensing: Current and active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists is required.

  • Experience:

    • Experience working with pediatric populations 

    • Strong clinical skills in assessment, goal formulation and treatment. Ability to engage children and families in making goals and effectively communicate strategies.

    • Ability to practice 1-1 or group sessions with child/youth and provide quality evidence-based practices based on the client’s needs.

    • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team is an asset.

    • Training and experience in children, youth, family issues and developmental disability related issues. Play therapy experience is an asset! 

  • Other documents: Criminal record check and professional liability insurance.
