At Alberta Therapy Co., we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. We are dedicated to celebrating neurodiversity and providing an inclusive, safe space for everyone. Our multidisciplinary team values connection and focuses on creating unique goals to suit the needs of each individual. With a collaborative team of therapists, families can feel supported in all areas and confident that their team is providing quality, evidence based care.
The Role
We are seeking a Behavioural Consultant who is passionate about providing affirming, individualized support to neurodivergent children and youth. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of professionals—including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and mental health therapists—to co-create strategies that enhance a child’s independence and growth.
What You’ll Do
Work collaboratively with families and caregivers to develop strengths-based support plans
Apply trauma-informed and individualized approaches that honor lived experiences and autonomy.
Focus on skill-building and environmental adaptations rather than compliance-based interventions.
Provide coaching and education to caregivers and educators on strategies to support the child’s independence and skill development.
Work alongside other professionals to ensure that goal plans are connected and collaborative.
Stay up to date with best practices in neuroaffirming care, client centered, and play based approaches.
What We’re Looking For
A deep understanding of neuroaffirming approaches and how to create strength based, person centered goals that acknowledge the unique strengths and challenges of the individual.
Education and experience in psychology, social work, behavioural consultation, or a related field.
Experience working with neurodivergent individuals (e.g., autistic, ADHD, or other neurodivergent identities) in a strengths-based manner.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Experience collaborating with team members to develop connected goals
Why Join Us?
A supportive and inclusive workplace that values trust and diversity.
A chance to make a meaningful impact without using outdated compliance-based models.
Ongoing professional development in neuroaffirming practices.
Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and growth.
If you believe in affirming and empowering neurodivergent individuals and want to be part of a progressive, person-centered team, we’d love to hear from you!
